Bugsy's Bar, Prague

Bugsy's Bar
Bugsy's Bar is one of the most famous bars in Czech republic. It is located on the most expensive street in Prague – Pařížská ulice. It has been there long time before The Black Angels and there were always competitions between Bugsy's and my next bar - Tretter's bar…

Review on this bar is the most problematic one from all the night. I know that bartenders working in Bugsy's belong to top bartenders in the Europe, due to INSANE amount of knowledge, skill and experience that they have. From time to time, if there is a world competition and a czech bartender wins it, you can be 100% sure that HE WAS working here, or HE IS working here…

But I personally didn't feel well, inside the bar. Maybe, because it doesn't look too fancy or maybe because guests are allowed to smoke inside and everywhere or because the actuall display of the bottles was messy...

Or MAYBE, because bartenders are ´´too proud´´ and when they were talking to me as to an random, unknown guest, they were using vulgar slang words, which looks very disrespectful, inelegant and not proffesional at all.

I've got an amazing cocktail though. It was a twisted version of High Society :

-        Gin

-        Campari

-        Peach liqueur

-        Fresh grapefruit juice

-        Grenadine

-        Orange marmelade

As you can see, it is an original recipe for High Society except of the orange marmelade which added an amazing, simple, fruity and funny twist to this cocktail. It was served in great-looking glass with some simple but stylish garnish in a form of a thin slice of grapefruit with mint leaves covered in powder sugar.

Bittersweet cocktail with fruity taste got interesting just at the end of each sip as it will get the orange taste at the tail, when you breathe out. But as it is marmelade, you will get bittery feeling on your tongue few moments later,  which is suggesting you to take another sip…

I was very nicely surprised after all, but there is – HOPEFULLY – one cocktail that i really want to share with you. For that one we will have to move to Tretter's New York bar.
