This blog should show you a way how to appreciate the bar, cocktails and its way of preparation, if you are a tourist or a visitor searching for a good place.
If you are a Bartender, Barmaid or Barmanager, you may find some useful informations about the VALUES of bartender´s job.
However, keep on mind, that this is a blog and only one person is writing it. There are many places i haven´t visited (yet) or I visited only once. My experience may be different from yours.

Hemingway Bar, Prague

I had to get to Hemingway Bar at first. I had one mission assigned by Harry's Bar in Paris. The head bartender from Harry's bar visited Prague few years ago and since the moment he visited Hemingway Bar, he honors this place endlessly. Long time ago, when I visited Paris, he took a napkin and wrote down a personal letter : ,,My greetings to Hemingway Bar - Harry's Bar, Paris.´´ He added his signature and said : ,,You have to bring it there, please! ´´ Well,  I was on my way here anyway, so my answer was : ,,No problemo!´´

So exactly 1 month later I took my seat in Hemingway Bar, holding a very important piece of paper. In a horrible condition though, becuase as soon as I got it in Paris, I just put it straight to the pocket and I didn't remove it untill now, because of my endless fear, that I will loose it or forget it somewhere, which would be very typical for me, by the way.

This bar has been always on a tipy top of mixology scene in the Czech republic.  However last year, they've made it one step further. They made it as the only one bar from Czech republic to worldsbest50bars.com ratings and over there, they ended on 24th position! ,,I have to see, what have changed, then´´ I said to myself. Honestly, the place haven't changed much. They are as good, as always.

The bar itself is divided to 2 parts. Smoking is in the ground level and non-smoking is up in the first floor. It is quite big bar, with quite low ceilings and a little dimm lights which is just perfectly linked with the music and overal atmoshpere.

After You will sit down, You will get two different menus – one is for spirits and champagne and wine and the other one is a cocktail menu where is written, by the way, even the etiquette for this bar.

As the bartender introduced me both menus, he offered me a special cocktail created as a ´´weekend promotion.´´ It was a cocktail based on a silver tequilla infused with popcorn…I do not really remember the rest of the recipe and I couldn't take picture as my phone died.

But it was a short, very refreshing and very light, foamy and creamy cocktail (by creamy dont get me wrong. Just the substance was a little bit heavier than water. It is still an easy to drink cocktail, which DOES NOT get stuck in your throat) with a very playful, unsual and interesting taste. And i love that!

As I keep my promises, i gave my sacred document to the bartender, we had a short chat and I had to leave, as the night got a little bit shorter and Pina colada in The Black Angels Cocktail Bar is not going to drink itself either.  Oh, by the way – If You want to come to Hemingway bar, make a reservation. It is full, all the time!  Well, it is not a surpise for me. After You will get here, You will agree with that, too.
