It is a long way from the icebar to the area of
Jonathan's Angels. I write to the ´´area´´ because… Yes, I got lost again. I knew the exact location of the
bar,but I was not able to locate the correct street. So I was walking
around, and walking and searching and searching and walking and then suddenly I've
seen an entrance to a very cool looking club. There was nobody inside. Only
two bartenders and a waitress…Easy, quick-check I smiled and I entered.
Level Club
One of the bartenders left, when I entered, but the
other one knew a lot of stuff, and he was experienced and a 100% accurate in
freepouring. I could see that, because as the waitress had nothing to do, she
was practicing and from time to time, this bartender came to her, explained her
something and showed her, how to do it. Any shot he made (in any technique he
used) was perfect, so all my honor to him for that – but how is it possible,
that the Mai-Tai he made, was transparent and tasteless is a mistery to me. But
much bigger mistery is, that the Sex on the Beach had more/less the same taste and colour. The biggest difference,
between those two cocktails served here, was red cocktail cherry in Mai-Tai..
We were chatting all the time, and when I told him,
that the day before I've been in Frizzo, he twisted his head and said that
Frizzo is not a good place for cocktails. Well, as You could read the review on
Frizzo before, I agree with him. But I am very sorry to say that, but honestly
– Frizzo is still better than Level club.
So I paid as soon as i finished my Sex on the
Mai-Tai - Ermmm… Well, not a big difference anyway… and I left in order to
find Jonathan's Angels.
Thanks to the fact , that I still don't have a
smartphone and I've got lost, I had to ask a group of english speaking people,
if they know, where am I, or if they know that place. Obviously, they didn't
know, but I got sucked into their conversation and a few minutes later I found
myself drinking a beer, in a Scholars Lounge Irish Pub with three girls from
Los Angeles, Dubai and Syd… sorry… Perth and two guys from San Francisco and
New York city.
And yet once again, I am so grateful, that I didn't
have GPS on smartphone. If I would have it, I would never meet them. I spent
with them only a few moments but it was a nice surprise. Honestly, I would
never expect to be the only one person from Europe in the Rome with a group of
6 people. (My greetings to you Blake, Faith, Amanda and the rest of you. Good
luck to two of your expelled collegues from the university! ) As they were
students, they left pretty quickly so I've tried my attempt no.3 to get to the
goddamned Jonathan's Angels bar. This time I was successful.. Finally!
