Barcode

Barcode is a bar located in the street Carrer del Comte d’Altea. It has everything You need to have to be considered as a good choice, if your bar is located in the city center. Atractive location, modern - good looking desing of the place itself, bartenders that are wearing a uniform.
It is just a pitty, that the Mojito I’ve tried there, was not good enough. Yes, this was my 4th Mojito this night and yet it was another version of it. Of course, it couldn’t be as bad as in Gong, but at the other hand, it was not even close to the one I’ve tried in the tent on the street close to Porta de Serrans.

Mojito in Barcode is made with a good amount of mint which is good, but it is made with classic, white sugar and instead of crushed ice I’ve got broken little ice qubes that were containing a lot lot of water. Few important notes here : It is important, that Mojito with soda water contains as little amount of water from the melting ice as possible, because that water is making the soda very flat and it covers the aroma of the mint as well as it ‘‘cuts‘‘ the taste of the rum. However I would like to apologize bartenders in Barcode from this, because to be fair – I’ve arrived there very late and like a bonus, it was Falles festival. There were so many people on the streets, that it was almost impossible to get inside the bar as well as leave the bar later on. And despite the fact, that this place was completely packed with people, I didn’t wait for long.

This brings me to a conclusion, that in Barcode, there is still something to be discovered. This place has a good potential. Unfortunatelly, how far they are fulfilling it, stayed hidden from me - this time.
